The nature conservation centre was built in 1997 with financial support from the Bulgarian-Swiss programme for the protection of biodiversity, together with the FORD and LANIJUS foundations.
Specially designed for its purposes, the centre has three large terraces as viewpoints for birds. Inside exhibitions illustrate the great variety of Poda's nature.
For visitors there are refreshment facilities and the sale of postcards and souvenirs provides valuable support to the work of the centre.
A fully-equipped meeting room for up to 30 people is available for hire. A guest room is available for the use of volunteers or visiting students or for visitors wishing to stay more than one day. Outside the main centre building is wood pavilion fitted with barbeque facilities, ideal for a child's birthday party.
