Здравейте, казвам се Фриедрих от гр. Шверин/Германия/ и вече трети месец съм практикант в Защитена местност „Пода”. Преди половин година, след като прекъснах скучното за мен следване на различни инженерни науки си мечтаех за място в Източна Европа, където да обогатя биологичните си знания в опазването на природата. Тук всичко това е възможно. Работата в Природозащитния център и в местността веднага ме вдъхновиха, въпреки че нямах точно определена цел. Забелязвам, че орнитологията и биологията като цяло ме правят щастлив и съм доволен от моя избор. За съжаление практиката ми е към своя край и през есента ще продължа следването си в Дрезден. Това бе невероятно време в една прекрасна страна. Много благодаря!

Seit drei Monaten arbeite ich, Friedrich aus Schwerin, hier im Naturschutzgebiet Poda. Ich habe mir vor einem halben Jahr nach Abbruch meines fragwürdigen Ingenieur-Studiums etwas gewünscht, wo ich einerseits meine Interessen im Naturschutz und in der Biologie erweitern und ausleben kann, andererseits wollte ich gerne eine Zeit in Osteuropa wohnen. Und hier ist beides möglich. Die Arbeit im Naturschutzzentrum Poda und das -gebiet haben mich sofort begeistert, obgleich ich ohne bestimmtes Ziel hergekommen bin. Jedoch merke ich immer mehr, wie mich Ornithologie, Biologie und ein solcher Beruf erfreut und bin froh, dass ich mit diesem Praktikum, an dessen Ende ich jetzt bin, einen Weg eingeschlagen habe, den ich mit meinem Studium ab Herbst in Dresden weitergehen kann. Es war eine unglaubliche Zeit in einem wunderschönen Land. Vielen Dank dafür!

I´m Friedrich from Schwerin and i´m working since three months in the NCC Poda. When I stopped my questionable Engeneering-studies half a year ago, I wished to live and develop my interests in active nature conservation and biology and furthermore I wanted to live in eastern Europe for a while. And both is possible here. The work and the area of Poda enthused me instantly, even though I came here without any specific aim. Anyway, I enjoy really much this work and learned incredibly more than I could imagine about ornithology, biology, tourism and Bulgaria. I´m happy that I´ve started with this internship a new path which I can go further with my studies which I´m going to do in Dresden with the begin of october. It was an great time in such a beautiful country. Many thanks therefore!

На 16.03.2009 г. в защитена местност “Пода” пристигнаха първите за годината бели лопатарки. След дълга и изтощитена миграция, птиците са забелязани да отпочиват сред тръстиките. Скоро те ще започнат да строят гнездата си, а през юни посетителите на Природозащитен център „Пода”, при късмет, ще могат да наблюдават и първите малки на вида.

Името на бялата лопатарка идва от специфично оформеният й дълъг клюн, който към върха е лопатовидно разширен. Птиците се хранят основно с водни насекоми, рибки и дребни земноводни. Защитена местност „Пода” е единственото място по българското Черноморие където видът гнезди в уникалната смесена чаплова колония, заедно с блестящия ибис, сивата, малката бяла, ръждивата, нощната и гривестата чапли. С цел опазването й, през 1989 г. територията е обявена за защитена местност и е предоставена за стопанисване от Българско дружество за защита на птиците.

Европейски дни на птиците на 4 и 5 октомври!!!

Европейските дни на птиците (EuroBirdwatch) се провеждат всяка година през първата събота и неделя на октомври (тази година това са 4-ти и 5-ти октомври).
По традиция вторият ден е Ден на отворените врати на Природозащитен център «Пода».

Birdwatch 2008

Der Birdwatch 2008 findet wieder am ersten Oktober-Wochenende, also am 4. und 5. 10. statt. Es ist schon zur Tradition geworden, dass der zweite Tag des Birdwatches gleichzeitig Tag der offenen Tür des Naturschutzzentrums „Poda“ ist. Wenn Sie den ornithologischen Reichtum des Naturschutzgebietes genießen wollen, sind sie herzlich willkommen.

Birwatch 2008

The European Day of Birds (EuroBirdwatch) occurs annually during the first weekend of October (Oct. 4th and 5 of this year). Traditionally, the second day is a ‘Day of the Open Door’ at the Poda Nature Conservation Center. This means no admission will be charged. Everyone is welcome and invited to come and enjoy the ornithological wealth at Poda!

На 20 август 2008 год. група на BirdLife Австрия, водена от Божидар Иванов (Neophron Tours) и Михаел Дворак откриха пепеляв брегобегач Xenus cinereus в ЗМ „Пода”. Птицата се придържаше и на следващия ден в непосредствена близост до укритието за наблюдение на птици.

Пепелявият брегобегач е северен вид , гнездящ в Сибир. Прелита основно между Черно и Каспийско море, рядко отделни екземпляри се срещат и на запад.

Am 20. August 2008 entdeckte eine Gruppe von BirdLife Österreich unter der Leitung von Bojidar Ivanov (Neophron Tours) und Michael Dvorak einen Terekwasserläufer Xenus cinereus in Poda. Der Vogel hielt sich im Gebiet der Beobachtungshütte auf und konnte bis zum Abend des Folgetages gesehen und auch gut dokumentiert werden.

Der Terekwasserläufer ist ein nordisches Faunenelement und brütet von Russland ostwärts. Der Zug dieser Art verläuft zwischen Schwarzem und Kaspischem Meer, nur selten erscheinen einzelne Individuen weiter westwärts.

On 20th of August 2008 a group of BirdLife Austria, guided by Bojidar Ivanov (Neophron Tours) and Michael Dvorak, discovered a Terek Sandpiper Xenus cinereus in Poda. The bird fed on mudflats around the observation hide and could be seen and documented until the evening of the following day.

The Terek Sandpiper is a Nordic species, breeding from Russia eastwards. It migrates between Black and Caspian Sea, rarely single individuals can be observed further west.

Здравейте, казвам се Леандер Киил и съм на 19 год. В момента съм студент трети семестър по специалността Биоразнообразие и Екология в гр. Грац, Австрия, където съм и роден.След краткия ми престой в Пода през 2001 год., реших да се върна отново и да бъда практикант в продължение на пет седмици. От малък наблюдавам и снимам птиците. По време на престоя ми в Пода, ще се постарая да направя хубави снимки и постоянно търся нови за мен видове. Hallo, mein Name ist Leander Khil, ich bin 19 und sozusagen der Neue hier. Ich studiere im dritten Semester Biodiversität und Ökologie in Graz, Österreich, wo ich auch geboren bin.

Nach meinem ersten kurzen Besuch 2001, werde ich diesen Sommer fünf Wochen in Poda als Praktikant tätig sein. Seit meiner Kindheit beschäftige ich mich mit der Vogelwelt, als Beobachter und Fotograf. Während meiner Zeit in Poda will ich versuchen, möglichst viele Vogelarten gut zu fotografieren und bin dabei stets auf der Suche nach Arten, die ich noch nie gesehen habe. Ich hoffe ich werde fündig! Das eine oder andere Bild aus Poda kann man hoffentlich bald auf meiner Homepage sehen (www.khil.net), bis dahin gibt es hier unten einen kleinen Vorgeschmack der letzten Tage.

Hi, my name is Leander Khil, I’m 19 and the last new trainee in Poda this season. I’m studying Biodiversity and Ecology in Graz, Austria, where I was born.Following my first short visit in 2001, this summer I’ll spend five weeks in Poda.

Since my childhood, I have spent my time watching and photographing birds. During my stay here, I will try to photograph as many species as possible in a good way and will always watch out for any species I’ve never seen before. I hope I’ll find one!

I will upload some photos from Poda (hopefully soon) to my webpage (www.khil.net), until then here are some examples of what I did during my first three days at Poda.

Здравейте, името ми е Илиян Коцев. Завършил съм География, а след това магистратура по специалността Физическа география и Ландшафтна екология в СУ Св. Климент Охридски. От стажa ми в ПЗЦ Пода очаквам да придобия полезни знания в областта на управлението на защитени територии, консервационната природозащита и опазване на биологичното и  ландщафтното разнообразие, както и екотуризма. Също така се радвам, че имам възможност да комуникирам с множество чужденци и по този начин да практикувам езиковите ми познания по английски. Надявам се след края на стажантската програма да съм отлично запознат с природно ресурсния  потенциал на тази част от крайбрежието и възможностите за неговото устойчиво използване.

Hi! Mein Name ist Iliyan Kotsev. Ich habe meinen Bachelor Abschluss in Geographie erworben und danach meinen Master in Physikalischer Geographie und Landschaftsökologie an der St. Kliment-Ohridski Universität in Sofia abgeschlossen.Während meines Praktikums in Poda möchte ich Wissen über das Management von Schutzgebieten, über die Sicherung der Arten- und Strukturvielfalt aber selbstverständlich auch über den Tourismus erlangen. Außerdem freue ich mich auf die Möglichkeit mit Menschen aus anderen Ländern zu kommunizieren und so mein Englisch zu üben. Ich hoffe, dass ich am Ende meines Aufenthaltes mit dem Potential der Natur dieses Abschnitts der Schwarzmeerküste und ebenso mit den Möglichkeiten dessen nachhaltiger Nutzung vertraut bin.

Hi! My name is Iliyan Kotsev. I have obtained a Bsc degree in Geography and then an Msc degree in Physical Geography and Landscape ecology at St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia. During my internship at Poda I expect to obtain useful knowledge in the fields of protected areas management and nature conservation as well as bio and landscape diversity protection and sustainable tourism. I am also happy that I have the opportunity to communicate with a lot of foreigners and to practice my English language skills. I hope that at the end of my stay here I will be quite familiar with the natural potential of this part of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and also the opportunities for its sustainable use.

Нетипично рано, само четири месеца след началото на размножителния период, първите бели щъркели вече напускат родните си места и се отправят към тропическа Африка. На 31. юли в небето над защитена местност „Пода” бяха наблюдавани над 600 екз. Научили се да летят само преди два месеца, младите птици поемат по дългото почти 15.000 км пътуване.

Природозащитен център „Пода” е едно от местата, от което може да се наблюдава този природен феномен. Няколко основни миграционни трасета се обединяват, като образуват източно-европейския миграционен път - Via pontica, който се използва от почти 200000 екз. - половината от европейската популация на белия щъркел. До началото на октомври в небето могат да се видят ятата от отлитащи птици. Пиковият период е в края на месец август, като само са един ден могат да се наблюдават над 40000 екземпляра.

Ungewöhnlich früh und gerade einmal 4 Monate nach Brutbeginn im April verlassen die ersten Weißstörche bereits ihre europäischen Brutgebiete und machen sich auf den Weg in die tropischen Überwinterungsgebiete Afrikas. Mehr als 600 Störche konnten am 31. Juli schon im Himmel über Poda gezählt werden. Selbst die erst seit etwa 2 Monaten flüggen Jungvögel begeben sich jetzt auf die bis zu 15.000km weite Reise.

Das Naturschutzzentrum Poda gehört zu den besten Plätzen der Welt um dieses beeindruckende Schauspiel mitzuerleben: Mehrere Zugrouten des Weißstorches vereinen sich über Bulgarien zur Via pontica , der östlichen Hauptzugroute. Jährlich wird diese von mehr als 200.000 Störchen genutzt – über die Hälfte der europäischen Population!

Bis Anfang Oktober werden ab jetzt regelmäßig große Schwärme zu sehen sein, zur Spitzenzeit gegen Ende August wurden in den letzten Jahren schon mehr als 40.000 Vögel an einem Tag gezählt!

Unusually early and only four months after beginning to hatch in April, the first white storks have begun to leave their European breeding areas and are now making their way towards their tropical wintering sites in Africa. On July 31, 2008, more than 600 white storks were seen in the sky over the Poda protected area. Even the young birds, who have only had two months to get accustomed to flying, now begin their first 15,000 km long journey.

The nature center Poda is one of the best places in the world to witness this impressive drama. Several migration lines of white storks unite in Bulgaria to form the Via pontica, the eastern European migratory route. Every year over 200,000 storks use this route – about half of the stork population of Europe! Until the beginning of October, large flocks can regularly be seen flying over the area with the peak period of migration in late August. In previous years, more than 40,000 storks have been counted in one day!
